Haiku and other poetry prompts

This week on One Single Impression the prompt is: A Summer’s Day

Summer’s Awakening

morning dew whispers
awakening summer days
chill of winter past

Changing Seasons

spring blossoms feeding
summer buds to awaken
yielding fall’s harvest

Summer Days

children’s laughter calls
bicycles and sand buckets
late into the night

This week on One Single Impression the prompt is: Skin

Freedom

Skin stretching tight

disguising emotions

invisible to all

Tears trapped inside

bursting seams, strangled

by loss and loneliness

Skin peeling back

revealing yesterday

tired and exposed

Tears falling free,

releasing pain and guilt

freedom to love myself

This week on One Single Impression the prompt is: Stardust

Liquid Stardust

Liquid stardust falls,

glittering crystals of ice

reflecting heaven.

This week on One Single Impression the prompt is: A Winter ’s Day

I live on the West Coast and we don’t get much snow, but this year we have had over 3 feet so far! I LOVE making snow angels so I was out with the kids next door encouraging them to get down in the snow to make one too. I love looking up and feeling the snow falling on my face. This was the first white Christmas we’ve had since 1971, and although it made it difficult for travellers it was so beautiful!

Merry Christmas to all my fellow bloggers and thank you all for your encouraging words, I look forward to a great year of reading your writing and committing myself to more writing.

Snow Angels!

Making snow angels,

looking up at swirling flakes

falling on warm cheeks.

Winter Distractions

Winter’s bitterness

creates a deep desire,

I long for your touch.
