Today’s prompt for Sunday Scribblings is: Organic

A Haiku on what can happen when we allow society to influence our thoughts and desires as we grow older. I believe that children’s minds are  uncorrupted and innocent until the rules of society influence their belief in themselves.

Lost Purity

purest desire

organic thoughts from within

lost in today’s world

To love unconditionally can be a challenge at times but is the greatest gift we can give another and also to receive ourselves.  To love and accept someone without expectations is priceless.  This week on Sunday Scribblings the prompt is: for richer or poorer. I believe even when your pockets feel poor you will always be rich if you have the love of family and friends.

Unconditional Love

family and friends

unconditionally love,

bountiful riches

The prompt for Sunday Scribbling this week is: I Believe

Believe

I believe in me.

My strength and love endures.

I have the power.

This week’s prompt on Sunday Scribbling is: Late

Hurry-Up!

I’ve never liked making New Year’s Resolutions but maybe it will help me with my bad habit of being behind. Well okay it’s really being behind, but being “late”. I have to admit that it really frustrates me when I have to wait for other people, so one would think I would make a point of being on time when someone is counting on me. All of my clocks are set 5-15 minutes ahead of time to compensate for my tardiness. Even my alarm clock is set 15 minutes ahead of time so I can hit snooze a couple times and sleep longer. Although I am usually up before it goes off anyway, so it’s really psychological.

I think I’m giving myself plenty of time but I’m easily distracted. It’s also bad judgement, thinking I can make it when really I can’t. It causes me more stress worrying about arriving on time or how the person is feeling if they have to wait for me. Why do I do it then? I really do care about how others feel. There is no excuse, I need to be responsible and consider other people’s feelings when they are counting on me.

It’s a new year coming up and although I don’t believe in the pressure of resolutions I will make a change in my time management and become more reliable when it comes to being on time. (this sounds like I’m late all the time, but I’m not really though even just a few times is annoying and stressful). So here’s to being on time!

Happy New Year’s everyone!

Sunday Scribblings prompt this week is My Style:

My Heart

A heart that aches at the injustice

of troubled souls wandering soiled streets

lost and forgotten

neglected and hungry

A heart that leaps at the sound of laughter

children content

safe with full tummies

smiling

A heart able to love

unconditionally

after learning

through pain and loss

A heart appreciating nature

smells and colors

storms and sunshine

waves splashing

leaving salt on my lips

A heart learning to love

Me

no matter my mistakes
